An even earlier start to \u201ctest our ability to operate under pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In what way, pray tell, does any of that build a team?<\/p>\n<p>It felt like enforced fun mixed with competitive suffering. <\/p>\n<p>What it didn\u2019t include was any meaningful exploration of:<\/p>\n<p>&#x2705; the uncomfortable truths getting in the way<br \/>\n&#x2705; which relationships were tricky<br \/>\n&#x2705; how we managed conflict<br \/>\n&#x2705; how we made decisions<br \/>\n&#x2705; what each of us needed to take responsibility for<br \/>\n&#x2705; or how we might actually collaborate better <\/p>\n<p>Unless you count \u201ctwo truths and a lie\u201d as deep psychological insight. &#x1f643;<\/p>\n<p>So, if you\u2019re looking for that kind of \u201cteam build,\u201d we at The Training Rock are not your people.<\/p>\n<p>If, on the other hand, you\u2019re looking to build real connection<\/p>\n<p>&#x1f4a5; to have a mirror held up to the behavioural traits in your team (spoiler alert: yes, even your traits contribute to the issues sometimes &#8211; it\u2019s not always that one annoying team member, despite how it might feel)<br \/>\n&#x1f4a5; to explore your default reactions to conflict<br \/>\n&#x1f4a5; and to work out what\u2019s really getting in the way of trust<\/p>\n<p>Then we might be exactly what you need. <\/p>\n<p>But if you\u2019re not ready to lean into the hard stuff, have the real conversations, and take ownership of your own part in the struggles &#8211; if it feels easier to keep blaming everyone else &#8211; then you\u2019re probably not ready yet.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s okay.<br \/>\nBecause when you are, the shift is worth it.<\/p>\n<p>I can\u2019t promise it will be comfortable.<br \/>\nIn fact, I can almost promise there will be moments that aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>But I can promise we\u2019ll tackle the hard stuff, and things will shift.<br \/>\nEven if it has felt impossible so far. <\/p>\n<p>As one (very reluctant) participant said by the end of the workshop:<br \/>\n\u201cOne of the biggest lessons I\u2019m taking with me is that everything truly is possible when we put our egos aside and have the real conversations.\u201d<br \/>\nWe don\u2019t call it a Team Build.<br \/>\nWe call it a Trust Repair Workshop.<\/p>\n<p>People rarely call us when trust is high.<\/p>\n<p>They usually wait until the brown stuff hits the fan, then ask for a miracle.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, that\u2019s our thing.<br \/>\nWe sort out sh*tuations.<\/p>\n<p>Whether it\u2019s clashing personalities, misfiring leadership, unresolved conflict, or so much change you\u2019ve lost track of who is even in your team, we help you rebuild the trust that holds everything together.<\/p>\n<p>Rock on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I used to work for a global financial services company, I was sent on a \u201cteam build.\u201d Two days of quad bikes, trust falls, and\u2026 alcohol.
